The Flying Lumberjacks formed in 2010 to compete in the 24hrs of LeMons races. Team captain Robert Edworthy chose an ‘88 VW Fox as his racecar, covered it with wood-grain mactac and stuck a giant axe on the roof. I joined the club in 2012. We got on the podium a few times over the years with that #40 car. It finished the ultra gruelling Chumpcar 36hour race in Spokane in 2013 and it finished the 24hour Vodden the Hell Are We Doing 24hrs of LeMons race on the full 5 mile Thunder Hill circuit in September 2014. Which means I am (or at least, was) a Guinness Book of World Records holder ;) Most Participants in a race. 216 cars started that race. We retired the Axe car at the end of 2015 and Rob picked an ‘88 VW Fox Wagon as our new chariot to begin the 2016 season. We’ve gotten on the podium in our class (usually B) a few times with it. We have fun. LuckyDog is our favourite place to race.
